Editors are a British alternative rock band based in Birmingham formed in 2002. The band currently consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesizer, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (Lead guitar), and Elliott Williams (Keys, synthesizers, guitars, and backing vocals) .
Editors have so far released two platinum studio albums, and four in total, whilst selling over several million copies between them worldwide. Their debut album The Back Room was released in 2005. It contained the hits “Munich” and “Blood” and the following year received a Mercury Prize nomination.
Their follow-up album An End Has a Start went to number 1 in the UK Album Chart in June 2007 and earned the band a Brit Awards nomination for best British Band. The band’s third album, In This Light and on This Evening, was released in October 2009 and went straight to number 1 in the UK Album Chart. The forth album, The Weight of Your Love, will be released the 1st July while the single “A ton of love” is already out.
The Museum of Twentieth Century (Museo del Novecento in Italian) is sited in the Arengario Palace near Duomo Square in the centre of Milan. Opened in December 2010, the museum is one of the most important art galleries about italian and international Twentieth Century’s art in Italy: of particular relevance are the sections dedicated to Futurism, Spatialism and Arte Povera. The collection includes masterpiece of several italian artists as Modigliani, De Chirico, Pellizza Da Volpedo, Boccioni, Balla, Carrà, Fontana, Morandi, Sironi and of international painters as Picasso, Kandinskij, Braque, Mondrian, Klee and Matisse.
